Over the past week hundreds of residents have been evacuated and homes and businesses destroyed by localised flooding.
After what was described as ‘biblical’ rain as a months rain fall fell in less than 24 hours, many parts of Doncaster were issued a severe flood alert – meaning a danger to life. Despite these terrible circumstances it is uplifting to see the communities of Doncaster rallying together to help those in need during this difficult time. Local residents and businesses have jumped in to action to set up sanctuaries, donation much needed items and even giving money generously.
If you’d like to donate towards the flood victims you can do so here. This is a crowd fundraising campaign set up by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation as a Flood Disaster Relief Appeal.
It was not just Doncaster, others parts of South Yorkshire were also affected such as Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield and surrounding counties.
